What is Chiropractic Biophysics?
Chiropractic Biophysics, or CBP, is a chiropractic technique that emphasizes optimal posture and spinal alignment while simultaneously improving pain and function. CBP researchers have extensively published ideal and average models for the human spine curvatures from the side and it lead to the finding of the “Harrison Spinal Model”. Based on the Harrison Spinal Model, the neck or cervical spine should have a shape that approximates a piece of a circle, the mid back or thoracic spine an oval-elliptical shape, and low back or lumbar spine an oval-elliptical shape. The Harrison Spine Model is an evidence-based model that has been found to have accurate validity between pain and non-pain subjects. Meaning, this model has been found to be able to identify pain subjects versus non-pain subjects based on their spinal x-ray shapes.
Why we practice CBP?
Chiropractic Biophysics Technique is the most published technique within the chiropractic profession. At Renew Family Health Center, we practice CBP is because it is one of the most scientifically validated techniques in chiropractic focused on corrective care for a long-term solution.
